What Is Spades?
Spades is a four-player, trick-taking card game played in fixed partnerships — you and your partner sit opposite two opponents. Every deal starts with a bid: how many of the thirteen tricks your side thinks it can win. Spades are always trump, which is where the game gets its name.
This version keeps it simple and quick. You play the South seat with an AI partner across from you and two AI opponents, no accounts and no adverts. Deal after deal, the running score climbs toward 500 — make your bid and you gain, miss it and you are set.

- What is a Nil bid?
- A bid of zero: you promise to win no tricks at all. Make it and your side scores 100; take even one trick and you lose 100. It is the boldest play in Spades.
- When can I lead a spade?
- Not until spades are 'broken' — played on some earlier trick because a player could not follow the led suit — unless spades are the only cards left in your hand.
- What are bags?
- Tricks won above your bid. Each is worth one point, but collect ten across the game and you are docked 100, so overbidding safely beats sandbagging.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Nothing to register or install. Your current match and statistics live in your browser's local storage and clear when you wipe your browsing data.
